Canadian Dental Care Plan
We Accept the CDCP
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal government initiative designed to cover up to 100% of dental care treatment costs for eligible Canadians. If you've applied and been approved, you can receive reduced-cost treatments at our clinic in Brantford.
Note: Fairview Family Dental in Brantford does accept the CDCP, but only for existing patients at this time. We are unable to accept new patients under the CDCP until further notice.
Is the CDCP for You?
The CDCP is intended for Canadians who do not have dental benefits and have a household income of less than $90,000 a year. You may qualify for CDCP coverage if:
- Your family net income is less than $90,000.
- You do not have access to private dental insurance.
- You are a Canadian resident and have filed a tax return in the previous year.
CDCP Application and Eligibility in 2025:
- If you are 65 years or older, under 18 years old, or an adult with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate, you can apply now.
- If you are between 18 and 64 years old, you will be able to apply in 2025.

How Much Will the CDCP Cover?
The CDCP is not a free dental program. Patients may be required to make a co-payment of up to 60% depending on their adjusted family net income. The exact coverage percentages are not specified in the provided government information.
What Treatments Does the CDCP Cover?
- Preventive care: Cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants
- Diagnostic services: Exams, X-rays
- Restorative treatments: Fillings, crowns
- Endodontic treatments: Root canals
- Prosthodontic services: Complete and partial dentures
- Oral surgery: Tooth extractions
Note: Not all dental services are covered under the CDCP, and many procedures have frequency limitations. Additionally, some services may require pre-approval from the CDCP.

Important Considerations
- The CDCP is administered by Health Canada, not directly by dental clinics.
- Before proceeding with treatment, it's important for patients to understand their dental care costs, as not all services are covered, and there may be out-of-pocket expenses.
