Dental Dentures

Restore Your Smile with Full or Partial Dentures
Dentures are artificial replacements for missing teeth and surrounding gum tissue. If you’ve lost most or all of your natural teeth due to injury, decay, or gum disease, dentures can help restore your ability to eat, speak, and smile confidently.
There are two main types of dentures: complete and partial. Both are custom-made using impressions of your mouth to ensure a comfortable and secure fit.
Complete Dentures
Complete dentures are used when all the teeth in either the upper or lower jaw are missing. These dentures sit on the gum line and are held in place by suction or denture adhesive. They are easily removable for cleaning and sleeping.
A complete denture consists of an acrylic base that resembles your natural gums and teeth made from acrylic or porcelain. The fit is carefully designed to ensure stability during everyday activities like eating and speaking.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. They fill in the gaps left by missing teeth and prevent surrounding teeth from shifting.
These dentures are typically made with a metal framework that supports replacement teeth. Small clasps or arms anchor the denture to your natural teeth, helping it stay stable during use.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Implant-supported dentures are a more secure option for people who have no teeth but have enough bone in their jaw to support dental implants. Unlike regular dentures, they are attached to implants placed in the jawbone, providing better stability and function.
How to Clean Your Dentures
Just like natural teeth, dentures must be cleaned every day. Plaque and bacteria can still build up and cause harm to any remaining teeth and gum tissue. To clean dentures:
- Remove and rinse them to remove food particles
- Use a soft-bristle toothbrush or denture brush with mild soap or denture cleaner
- Brush all surfaces of the dentures gently
- Clean your gums and any remaining natural teeth separately
